In the news …

The Trump administration has dramatically stepped up its scrutiny of visa applications for technology workers, forcing some Massachusetts companies and academic institutions to wait months to fill jobs designated for overseas workers. US Citizenship and Immigration Services is challenging the work credentials of a much higher percentage of applicants this year than in previous periods, requiring more companies to provide documentation to prove the proposed employee both had special skills and will be paid at a fair rate.  — BostonGlobe

Why are jobs designated for overseas workers?

An American Revolution

How can the US govt “force” a Middle Class family of four to pay $2500/month for health insurance? When will ACA be $5,000/month?

Off-shore jobs, infettered, illegal immigration, H1b, preferences for jobs and college admissions to protected groups, then scholarships and financial aid (paid for by Middle Class taxpayers!) …..

How much more pain can the Middle Class stand? Will anyone represent them?

Remember the American Revolution?

Shadow economy

Many business models and entire economic sectors now depend on cheap “shadow” labor of one sort or another. Everything from skilled construction to home health care, computer programming, hospitality, ag, etc. can be had for around $10 bucks per hour. Citizens can’t compete, and not because they are lazy as immigrant activists contend, but because it is illegal! Citizens can’t waive the 100’s of labor rights “protecting” them and employers know with documentation and paper trails they will be busted easily.

The shadow economy works BECAUSE of the illegality and lack of documentation. Employers by law can’t even ask about citizenship. Why do so many illegal aliens remain in the shadows for decades?

For a double whammy, citizens are then taxed to pay for the social benefits that subsidize the low wage scales.

Ana (Alaska): I think one really big misconception is that we’re [DACAs] stealing things from Americans. It’s not our fault if you haven’t achieved your full potential and there’s no reason for us to apologize for it.”

Suffering from addiction

ACA (and similar policies) are cruelly addictive and create dependencies and a false sense of hope and security. It will take time to rehab the country and the withdrawal will be painful. Public pensions are slowly imploding also for example. These political promises cannot be kept and should never have been made.
