2016 Election and email leaks

The Wikileaks collection of DNC / Podesta emails is very large and apparently unedited and untampered with.  More likely a leak or dump of a mirror image of data.  Looks like an inside job.  Not a hack and “weaponization” of info.

Note that in the recent French election, the Macron material was selective and seeded with false and edited records.

In the DNC / Podesta case, there has been no discrediting of the veracity of the emails.

Also, Wikileaks is “leaks”, not Wiki-hacks.  Doubtful Assange would let himself and his org be used by anyone for partisan political purposes.

If a hack was certain, and not an inside leak, why not invite the FBI to help?

“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,” the agency said. “This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier.”
